The social network said Friday it would finally start to limit how often the blue dot notification appeared in the Moments tab within the Twitter app. It's not clear how much less often users should expect to see the rage-inducing dot, but it will likely be welcome news to many users</div>

A quick recap: Last month Twitter introduced Moments, a new section of its app that surfaces curated collections of tweets around specific news stories, events and other conversations happening on Twitter. The much-hyped feature was one of the company's biggest updates in years but all anyone could focus on was the blue dot that wouldn't go away.</div>

For once, Twitter, it seems, was listening. In a tweet Friday, the company said they would change the feature so the notification would appear "less frequently," though they didn't elaborate on how often it would appear.</div>

While many users are relieved, some took the opportunity to complain about the other feature everyone seems to hate: the new favorites, er likes.</div>

While it seems unlikely Twitter would reverse course on the <a data-crackerjax="#post-slider" href="http://mashable.com/2015/11/03/twitter-like-button/" style="color: #00aeef; text-decoration: none;">despised</a> heart, this change, at least, proves that Twitter is (sometimes) listening. Maybe there's still hope for that star.</div>

The polls are a native feature — meaning the polls are embedded directly into the tweets, rather than use <a href="https://dev.twitter.com/cards/overview" style="color: #00aeef; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Twitter Cards</a>, which lets you attach rich photos, media and videos. It's available on the mobile and desktop versions of Twitter, but it won't be available on third-party apps like Tweetdeck.</div>

Using a <em>New York Times</em> link as an example, the suit says that Twitter’s algorithms identify hyperlinks and replace them with its own custom links, so that the person clicking on the link travels through Twitter’s analytics servers before reaching the destination website.</div>

Should someone click on this new link (http:/t.co/CL2SKBxr1s), they would first be taken to Twitter’s “t.co” website and then forwarded to the original “www.nytimes.com” website."</div>

"We do this to help improve our Services, to provide more relevant advertising, and to be able to share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked on," Twitter writes.</div>

The suit alleges the company benefits from replacing user hyperlinks with its own, as it allows the platform to track links for advertisers. "In the example given, the New York Times would identify Twitter as the source of internet traffic, whereas without replacing the link the source would be anonymous. The end result is that Twitter can negotiate better advertising rates," it explains.</div>
