See Every Single Outfit Nicki Minaj Has Worn To The VMAs

Whenever the VMAs roll around, we always take a minute to remember what our faves have worn in year’s past because, duh, they looked in-cred-i-ble. So far, we’ve seen Katy Perry’s adorable-to-edgy VMA transformation, every outfit Beyonce has worn from 2000 until now, but today it’s (finally!) time to celebrate one of our favorite VMA regulars: Nicki Minaj. From sheer jumpsuits to surgical masks, check out every single outfit Nicki has worn to the VMAs!

  It’s hard to believe just 5 years ago Nicki was performing at the pre-show for the first time, but it’s no surprise that she brought her signature badass-meets-Barbie look for her VMA debut. She sported a space age-inspired pink and purple Marco Marco jumpsuit, custom Chanel boots, and pink beehive wig when she shared the stage with will.i.am.

  As a presenter (with Katy Perry!), she opted for a more demure light pink silk Lura Starr vest and trousers, Versace pumps, and Basile & Pape jewelry. She switched up her wig with the classic blunt-banged bob she was known for at the time.   Nicki’s most memorable VMA look definitely had to be her candy raver-inspired ensemble from 2011. Between her pile of pink and yellow buns, Onch Movement ice cream necklace, Amato Couture hand-stitched metal dress, and ShojonoTomo surgical mask, doll and socks, girl was ALL about the details at this show.

  Here’s a close-up of the ensemble because, dudes, it was nuts. Also note that she didn’t have an outfit change this year but, um, when you have this much happening in a single ensemble, you can’t even be mad about it.

  The following year, Ms. Minaj brought back her pink and yellow ’do on the red carpet–this time as a curly bob. She paired her candy-colored hair with a black cap, black lace Versace jumpsuit and embellished Louboutins.

  When she joined Alicia Keys onstage for “Girl on Fire,” she sported a fitted, black hoodie with high-waisted shorts, a leather harness, and fishnet tights. KILLER.

  Even though Nicki didn’t make an appearance at the 2013 VMAs, she made up for it BIG TIME in 2014. Girl hit the stage three different times (!!!) with five outfit changes to boot. She kicked off the evening in a metallic Saint Laurent minidress with white heels and soft, shoulder-length waves.

  For the show, Nicki busted out a sparkly green bra and hot pants ensemble to perform “Anaconda” during the opening medley. Instead of tights, Nicki opted for some snake-inspired designs painted on her legs paired with high-top sneakers.

  When she joined Ariana Grande and Jessie J onstage for “Bang Bang,” her Saint Laurent dress made headlines when the zipper failed to work for the quick-change. In true Nicki form, she handled the wardrobe mishap like a total pro.

  

  Later in the show, she performed with Usher in an all-white fur, jeans and Giuseppes outfit, which TBH, looked like her comfiest ensemble of the night.

  At the end of the evening, Nicki switched back into her now-infamous (and apparently not broken!) black Saint Laurent frock, which we finally got to see in all its glory. This time, she paired her LBD with geometric-patterned booties and super straight strands. Werkkk.
