On Uber, it's not just the passengers giving out ratings. News circulated last year that Uber drivers were quietly rating the people they pick up.
But not many people know there's an easy way to see how well you've fared as a passenger. Hidden deep in the Uber app's settings, there's a feature that will reveal just that.
The rating system, which uses a one through five scale (five being the best), was put in place by the company so drivers can learn more about what to expect when they pick up certain passengers, and, in theory, decide whether or not they want to pick them up in the first place.
"After each trip, riders and drivers given the opportunity to rate one another based on their trip experience," the app notes. "The rating system works to make sure that the most respectful riders and drivers are using Uber. Ratings are always reported as averages, and neither riders nor drivers will see the individual rating left for a particular trip."
Here's a look at how to find your rating:
- Open the Uber app.
- Click the Profile section located at the top left.
- Select Help.
- Pick Account.
- Choose "I'd like to know my rating."
- Agree to "know my rating."
- Check your email for a full report.
After receiving a note from someone on the Uber team with your rating, you'll likely spend the rest of the day thinking about what you did to get docked a few points.
