For mere mortals, the arrival of a birthday is an excuse to celebrate/weep at the passing of another year. It's also a good time to do a quick check for grey hairs and liver spots. But these little quirks of time can be endearing and charming; maybe even more so when applied to classic cartoon characters.
Artist Andrew Tarusov took the idea of aging and applied it to usually ageless characters like Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner, Tom, Jerry, Sylvester the Cat and Tweety Bird.
A quick look, and it's clear that Minnie and Mickey make an even more dynamite duo when Minnie is sporting sensible heels, and Mickey looks like the rodent version of Larry King, with more swag.
It makes it easier to imagine what it'd be like to have Daisy Duck slip you a $20 on your birthday, or Porky the Pig falling asleep with the TV on (again).
